2011 at a glance…

When we look back at the ministry that took place in 2011, we have a lot to be thankful for. Here’s a taste of what we are praising God for:

We saw the Lord move in the hearts of students in powerful ways this past summer. The decisions we know about include: 1129 Salvations; 3015 Re-dedications; 594 Calls to vocation ministry; and 1877 other significant spiritual decisions. That’s a total of 6615 spiritual decisions!!

The generosity of campers, adults and staff toward this year’s Mission’s offering was overwhelming. In September, Thom Rainer, our president here at LifeWay, presented a check to the Executive Committee for $582,000 for SBC missions raised by Centrifuge, M-Fuge, X-Fuge and CentriKid campers in 2011. The money will be used to further the work of the International Mission Board in Sub-Saharan Africa as well as the work of the North American Mission Board in Canada. The Lord opened doors for us to expand our ministry to two NEW locations. We opened Centrifuge at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO. Southwest Baptist was our most affordable camp location this past summer and continues to be for 2012. The campus was a great fit for us with a beautiful theater for worship and an indoor pool, gymnasium and rock climbing wall for recreation. We also opened M-Fuge at Tulane University in New Orleans. This was an answer to many years of prayer. We’ve had New Orleans on our hearts for a long time and have wanted to mobilize thousands of teenagers/adults to serve in a place full of spiritual and physical needs. The campus of Tulane was a great fit for us with beautiful facilities and a safe environment.

World Changers and PowerPlant joined the LifeWay family. We’ve already been incredibly blessed by the passion of the people and purpose behind these two mission organizations. We look forward to a future of serving alongside each other!

We are humbled by the opportunity to participate in what God is doing through LifeWay Student Events. Here’s to the summer of 2012…may we continue to trust God for BIG things.
